S.M.A.R.T.

Be Smart this Summer and Hire a Student

S = Summer jobs - Summer jobs provide valuable work experience and can help a young person focus their career plans.
M = Money - Saving money for tuition or savings will allow a student to focus on studies during the school term meaning better educational outcomes.
A = Aptitude - Through work experience, students can find out what they are good at and what they like - their aptitude. This allows greater focus for them as they continue their education and map out a career in Saskatchewan.
R = Right - It's the right thing to do for your business, your community and for the students. Where else will a young person get work experience? Who else will do the work necessary when your regular staff is on vacation? It's very likely that someone gave you a summer job that helped you to enter the work world and to support your education.
T = Timing - Timing is everything. Students are often out of class in the summer and as such can focus on work, not juggle studies and a job. Working is a reality for many during their school year.

We encourage you to work S.M.A.R.T. and help Saskatchewan students gain the skills that they need to keep Saskatchewan strong.
